Farewell 28. Now I’m 29!

First in line to wish me a happy birthday this year: Progressive Auto Insurance. Thank you Progressive for programming your automated system to acknowledge my special day!

Yep, I recently had a birthday. I guess that would make it Unfair Mom’s birthday too. … Do alter-egos share birthdays with their original beings?

Anyhow, 29 is going pretty good so far.

Starting the day with a bike ride
When I asked my significant other what I should do to celebrate, he suggested a midnight bike ride. So I grabbed a few glow bracelets, attached them to my wrists and feet, and went for a little ride. I thought glowing bracelets would be a festive way to stay safe on a midnight ride 🙂

Barbie Hair!
My little girl woke me up bright and early – 2 minutes before my alarm went off to ask what she should pack in her lunch for the school field trip. She kept looking at me weird as we got out the turkey and sliced up an apple.

As we pulled up to the school, she told me “You look like a Barbie this morning.” I took it as a compliment … then she continued. “Your hair is sticking out everywhere, just like a Barbie that’s been played with!” – Thanks kiddo for letting me know.

Breakfast in bed
I also got a lovely breakfast in bed: Rice Krispies arranged into a smiley face on the bottom half of a hamburger bun!

Work, play, work, play!
I so badly wanted to play hooky from work today and join my daughter on her field trip. But my responsible side kicked in, so I worked in the morning and joined the field trip after lunch.

Dinner – Yum!

And we ended the day with a trip to my favorite Chinese food place. ‘ll have to get some better pictures to post on here.
